Eating healthy is an important part of transitioning although not really thought about in most cases; hormone use can lead to many complications and can create added health risks into your life. Adding alkaline foods into your diet to include greens, fruits and lots of water will help your liver and other organs deal with the use of hormones.

Adding an exercise program to help your body take in more oxygen and to expell the toxins that are a by product of hormone use can alleviate many of the discomforts acrued by hormone intake. Please make sure to be monitored by your physician so that your blood levels can remain healthy and you can enjoy a long healthy life in your gender of choice.

Here is a healthy alternative to chile which Jessica makes often and warms up my heart and soul:

Recipe:
2 cans of red kidney beans (drained)
1 can of spicy chili beans
1 pound of ground hormone free chicken (Purdue)
2 cut up celery stalks
3 cups of tomato juice
4 cloves of well minced garlic
1/4 of a red onion
1 green, red or yellow bell pepper chopped
3 Tbsp. cumin
1/2 tsp. of cayenne pepper
1 tsp. of black pepper
1 tsp. chili powder
3 Tbsp. of oregano
3 Tbsp of basil
1 Tbsp of Olive oil

Things you will need: crock pot and a skillet
Step 1: Add a Tbsp of olive oil and minced garlic, and chopped onion into the skillet on medium heat, stir to saute the garlic. Add the ground chicken and cook until brown., after the chicken has browned and fully cooked.
Step 2: Turn on the crock pot to medium and add chicken, celery, bell pepper, the beans, the tomato juice. and all seasonings mentioned. Mix together thoroughly, cover and let cook for 5 to 6 hours, stirring occasionally.

Serve and enjoy. This is low in fat, and very nutritious, less calories than the alternative.
