Forrest Baker, is a follower of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, spent the last 15-years of his life in prison serving a Life without Parole sentence.
On April 4th, 2017, while housed at the New Jersey State Prison in Trenton, he suffered a life-threatening aortic aneurysm. Rushed to a local hospital, he was soon diagnosed with a tearing aortic artery, the largest artery in the human body.
He was then diagnosed with five major organ failures, including the kidneys and the intestines; Within eight hours it was decided to transfer him to a world-class trauma/surgery center in Camden, where he underwent open heart surgery, during which time he was on bypass for over 2½ hours. Doctors repaired his dissected aorta and removed over 90% of his dying intestines due to severe blood loss. At that point, it was simply a matter of waking up and recovery.
A week later, now terminally ill and close to death, his family was called in to say their final good-byes.
During the next month, he fell deep inside a traumatic and revelatory coma as his body maintained its fight.
Finally awaking from his coma in May of 2017, he immediately began to remember the chilling events while on the other side. Although only a month had passed, Forrest believed that his coma had lasted years. Within a few days of awaking, he was informed that his legs would have to be amputated due to a gangrene infection: Forrest lost his limbs on July 20th, 2017.
In his very personal account, Revelations of Heaven, Forrest reveals his life, from early childhood to a drug-infused crime spree where he robbed banks, leading him to prison, and then his desperate battles with evil itself while imprisoned within his coma.
On May 23, 2018, his final appeal (his 11th) was granted and he was set free.
Forrest now has a growing relationship with his daughter, Brittany, a mother to a beautiful 10-year old girl named Chloe; and his son, Evan. Forrest Baker lives in New Jersey where he awaits still more surgeries.
Currently, he works as a writer and plans on public speaking as his health improves. He is also planning on consulting those about to go into the prison system. As of the writing of this bio, he is working on his next project about his decade-plus of legal battles and how he set himself free, having perfected his own appeal, finding the one hole in the dike in which to purchase freedom.
