In today's show, we are sharing a story of a young man who felt he did not fit in the role of the man he was born to be, leading him on a spiral that would forever change his life. Abel Grew up in a Mexican Household he reports that he wasn’t very masculine, instead was very shy and timid. He felt he never met any of the expectations of a man growing up.
Eventually assuming he could not be man enough, therefore he thought he must be a woman. At the age of 18, he searched for help and found a therapist who after the initial session told him that he was transgender, providing him with a letter on that very first session, telling Abel she did not want to gatekeep him.
At 19, he started on hormones, at 20 he changed his gender and name on all of his IDs. At 21 he got breast implants and almost went for bottom surgery. He realized he had made a mistake, and worked nonstop to fix his mistakes. At 23 he had the implants removed, got his chest reconstructed, and at age 25, he was fully detransitioned. He is now working on telling his story while helping others from harming themselves.
